Barbara Bush is Way off Base

I always thought George W. Bush was the knucklehead of the group. Now I see where he gets his sometimes clue less ways.
Momma Barbara Bush is not wrapped too tight herself. She showed great sensitivity to the victims of Hurricane Katrina when she said this dandy about the displaced families spending their lives in the Houston Astrodome.
"And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this -- this [she chuckles slightly] is working very well for them," Babs Bush said.
You've got to be kidding me!
Yeah, it is working out for everybody in the gulf states. It is probably great knowing they don't have a home. It is great that families are split and people don't know where their moms, dads and children are.
It must be great to see your neighborhood flooded and on fire and being patrolled by the military.
That sounds like a great week to me.
I should be so lucky. Sign me up.
I grew up poor. Our family had more than many of the people we see in Mississippi and New Orleans, but we struggled at times. My mother could not afford to keep me so I stayed with my grandmother and aunt.
But no matter how tough times got. No matter how much you had to cut back, it was home. And I loved every waking moment in my little house on Detroit's west side. I didn't want to be any place else.
I learned that being home with family was more important than anything else.
You know something. I felt rich because I had my people. And that is all that mattered.
Bush needs a reality check.
Then again maybe she is right. These people look like they are having a rocking good time.
Wouldn't you be?

She had another doozy about how unfortunate it was that a lot of the displaced people were planning to move to Texas.

Just unreal.

And this is the woman that raised our President.

Jeez, do you think he shares any of these ideals/thoughts?

She didn't say that Terry. The local and state governments put in a Bab's Bush body double in that interview; once again you are blaming the president because you are a liberal slime. I am also calling my lawyer to slap a libel suit on you. How dare you try to make this into humanitarian nightmare, when now is the time we really have to stand behind our leader......On second thought these are the Bush's and these are the kind of people they are, they are sad excuses for human beings IMHO, just getting you ready those posts that are sure to come...Glad to see you writing about this again, I like sports as much as anyone, unfortunately many things in this day and age transcend it, nice post.

I simply hope he does not. Hopefully we can chalk it up to the ramblings of an old woman who does not know what she says

Terry I will not donate any of more of my money to the Red Cross. I have listened to first hand accounts of how they are treating our people. Look at the Freep Headlines I am sorry I don;t recall folks from Hurricane Andrews with guns being shown to them. My money will go the churches housing our people.

Yes the Free Press photo and headline are crazy. On Mildred Gaddis' show this morning, from New Orleans she said that one of the shelters had African Americans and Caucasion Americans separated, feeding one cereal for breakfast and the other got breakfast with meat! Allegedly some rescue groups are being paid by the head for services rendered and are using the national guard to stop victims from leaving to be evacuated to safer areas. Guns are being put in individual's faces when it is "time to go to sleep"! These are human beings, Americans! And the first mom's comments fit right in.

I guess this just confirms the fact that when George Duhbya fell off the Stupid truck, he was wrapped firmly in Barbara's arms!!

Hey Terry,

Look at yourself on this one before bashing George here because of his mom. You said yourself that your mother for whatever reason was not able to keep you, no one is judging you or saying you're a worse person because of your mother. Come on Terry, look at the truth.

I hope to God these people are really not being separated with whites getting one meal and blacks another, and I'm white. That is absolute bullsh!t.

Separate food based on race sounds like a myth/rumor to me. I'm sure the NYTimes would have it front page by now if it were true.

I am looking at the truth. Way before Barbara Bush said this I suspected George W to be one of the dumber men in politics. So this is nothing new. I have never been impressed with him and do not understand how our country could elect him twice. So OK we only elected him once. His brother hooked him up in the first election. I am simply saying now I see where he gets his genes from.

I don't believe in the seperated by race thing either. I want to see that in a legit news organization. A lot of myths about black people are started by black people. For instance I heard they were rapping women in the conventon center in New Orleans and no one can come up with any evidence of that.

here is what is fact you have gaurds carrying m16's on our poeople. You also have gaurds on camera telling the media to turn it off. Terry that just like the Urban Myth Mike cox claimed about the manoogian party but We all know it happenned. Just because legit new sources don;t carry it does not mean it has not happened. I have also heard news surces make the same claim

Reuters just released a report that speaks to Halliburton and other companies close to Bush getting contracts to clean up New Orleans. On one of these posts some uninformed person stated that Dick Chaney was not getting paid by Halliburton. But according to this report, Chaney reported over $194,000 in income from the company this past April. What are we doing???

I sure wish this BLACK DEMOCRAT would have used the resources to help rescue or help people. But I guess the media won't let a little thing called FACTS get in the way of a good Bush bashing story...
