Now Others Are Reporting the Truth About Pudge

Do you remember our battle of a few weeks ago where some of you debated that I was irresponsible for unearthing some Tiger dirt?
Well the dirt is coming out now. The things we talked about five weeks ago are being printed by the main stream media. I know many of you doubted me when I said Pudge Rodriguez was disgruntled and wants out of Detroit.
You wanted to believe in him and you doubted me. That is cool. I am very careful about things like this. I only went with it when I was certain it was true.
Here is what you can expect during the off season. Rodriguez will officially ask the Tigers to trade him. He does not respect his teammates and he does not respect the organization. The problem is he will be hard to trade. There are a lot of miles in that body and the guy hardly looks like the second coming.
He is a cancer in that dressing room and the Tigers need a cleansing. And while you are at it you can say good bye to Mags Ordonez too. He does not want to be here either. I told you a few weeks ago I expect Alan Trammell to return as manager next season. I still expect that to happen but don't take that one to the bank. But if Tram stays Kirk Gibson should be let go as bench coach.
There is too much resentment from current players for him and the Tigers could flirt with further disaster if he stays another season. Stay tuned. There is more to come on this in the coming days.

Terry you get some DAP for that. But what I don't understand is why does Maggs want out now? For the love of pete he just signed and just starting playing a couple months ago. What is the deal here?

PS: I have completely stopped watching Tigers' games (baseball alltogether). Thank God for football.

Sorry T but everything I've read about Pudge taking a piss on the Tigers is well documented on www.detroitsportsrag.com

As a Twins fan, I think it's pathetic that the Tigers can't beat the Twins. The Twins have rolled over. Twins are lucky the Tigers and Royals are bad or else they would be in last place.

Thanks, Terry. I don't get it with Maggs. That's out of the blue to me.

But what amazes me is that the players and their agents have driven contracts that make them untradeable. It is as if they have no thoughts at all about whether they can really do 4 years in Detroit. Makes me thinks that these guys are just well represented "Dumb jocks" just liekthe stereotype. I'd end up being pissed at my agent (stupidly I guess) for not looking out for the whole picture, instread of just high dollar. But they get a %, don't they.

Bummer on Maggs - hoep you are wrong.

And your comments about Gibby and resentment ought to put a nailin the coffin of the "We need a yeller and screamer for Skipper, Like Bowa" department.

At the rate the Tigs are continuing their death spiral, I really doubt that Trammell is coming back. That's a shame because he is a genuinely good and honorable man who represents the modern Tigers at their finest.

But it is clear he's lost the team, and the cold fact is that it's a lot easier to jettison one manager than several players. I think Jim Leyland would be ideal for this team, and I wouldn't risk someone snatching him up in the offseason if I were Dave Dombrowski.

I heard Mags never wanted to come here. The only reasons he came here was for the money and to show other teams he can play and perhaps make a move elsewhere.

You are oh so right about Gibson. Trammell's ringing endorsement of him as hitting coach a couple weeks ago seems to have coincided with the nose dive the hitters have taken. I believe that perhaps DD has already told Trammell that for him to be back next year, Gibby is gone. Gibby as bench coach with no coaching experience ever was a joke, Gibby as hitting coach is an even bigger joke. Trammell hired Gibson because he thought he would balance the scales for those who thought he was "too nice" to manage. It didn't work and now he is paying the price for his choice. I do not believe that Maggs wants out. Everyone who expresses their feelings doesn't want to be gone, some are just frustrated.

I think the Tigers under Mike Illitch have become a damn joke and I wish Terry or Drew Sharp or Rob Parker or someone write about it. Illitch killed one of the most venerable franchises in pro sports and no one said peep.

I think people need to stop blaming Magglio and Pudge for wanting out. There is a reason the guys on the team don't respect Trammell. He has no significant managerial experience, he seems unable to lead, and he shakes his head like a jerk of a disapproving father everytime a guy does something "wrong" on the field. It is the manager's job to build team spirit and MANAGE personalities. Clearly, Pudge seems to have a big head, but it must be hard working under a complete moron. If Trammell's back next year I'm going to start wondering if Dombrowski is on someone else's payroll.

I think Tram bit off way more than he could chew. Guess managing isn't as easy as it looks huh? Tram and Gibson were hired for a reason, they served their purpose, now its time to git the hell on!!!

Why wouldn't Maggs sign one of the many 1 yr contracts he was offered? Why did he sign here for 7 yrs? This is what I don't get about the Maggs situation. I'm sure Detroit wasn't his first choice, or even his 5th choice, but he must've been at peace with it when he signed here otherwise he would've signed elsewhere for a year than collected the big bucks. Remember, he was offered $12mm/yr by Chicago for 5 yrs, why didn't he take the dough if he never wanted to come here?

I guess I should bring up the question I did on the air yesterday. If you are Jim Leland why do you come here? There will be other opportunites in baseball and the Tigers seem so disjointed and I am not sure if there is any hope for the future.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

If you're Leland, you come here because you are a veteran of the organization, you think you can make a difference, you like a challenge, you'll make a pretty penny, and you know you'll be a million times better than the previous manager.

Well, Leyland's said he wants to manage somewhere in the vicinity of the Midwest, and somewhere with a shot at contending.

#1 is locked up tight.

#2....is trickier, true. BUT. This isn't a team that should be 11 games below .500. This is a team with capable veterans that needs a steadier hand. Plus, Dombrowski is a serious baseball man who has worked successfully with JL. But for the Huizenga brain seizure, they would have had a lot more success, too.

And for all of his flaws, Ilitch has shown recently that he will spend the dough--lavishly--where others won't. It's not the worst of all worlds for a guy like JL.

I listened to Danny Knobler on his radio interview, and the stuttering and stammer with questions about the relationship between Pudge & tram was comical. (Pudge did call "Tram a Piece of s---, who did not know anything"). He could not give a clear explanation of what's going on. He skirted all over issues involving the situation in the club house; Pudge wanting off this team, etc. Leads me to believe that the only one who has the gumption to speak the truth is Terry.
I did notice after a few weeks of rumors Lynn Henning wrote his column about Pudge, and just today in the detroit new some writer basically copy the same article but with slightly different spin.
Also believe Terry when he says that Maggs wants out.
Trust what Terry says, because I know for a fact that this guy speaks the truth. The truth may not be pretty, but it is accurate.
Also if you all don't think that the hiring of Alan was any thing other than a PR stunt, then I have a bridge to sell you.

Maggs was offered many 1 year deals. However, the knee was questionable; if the knee was not able to take the pressure of everyday play, then after the year who would sign him. Remember this guy is not in his 20's, I will be very surprised if this guy fulfills the contract. Guillian had surgery twice and I will be very surprised if he will be able to play everyday next season.

Plenty of people are telling the truth about Pudge, Terry is just one of them. Now, I'd like to see someone with the guts to tell the truth about Tram. Pudge isn't the only guy unhappy with him.

What about Tram, can someone tell the truth about Tram?

5:36 PM

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Terry was the first one who had the guts to reveal the stories that no beat writer in Detroit would write.
The truth was Pudge & Uggie, started trouble the first year in Detroit.
Trams lost control last year because of an instance between pudge and Uggie. This episode took place in front of the players. Because he did not deal with the problem when it happened it became obvious that his personality cannot handle confrontations.
This club house needs a Larry Bowa.
Larry Bowa would not care what yor nationality or color your skin he would say exactly what it would take to get the job done. Unfortunately that is not in Trams makeup.

Help me Dude, I think I'm lost..... I was searching for Elvis and somehow ended up in your blog, but you know I'm sure I saw him in a car lot yesterday, which is really strange because the last time I saw him was in the supermarket. No honest really, he was right there in front of me, next to the steaks singing "Love me Tender". He said to me (his lip was only slightly curled) "Boy, you need to get yourself a San Diego cosmetic surgery doctor ,to fit into those blue suede shoes of yours. But Elvis said in the Ghetto nobody can afford a San Diego plastic surgery doctor. Dude I'm All Shook Up said Elvis. I think I'll have me another cheeseburger. Then I'm gonna go round and see Michael Jackson and we're gonna watch a waaaay cool make-over show featuring some Tijuana dentists on the TV in the back of my Hummer. And then he just walked out of the supermarket singing. . . "You give me love and consolation,
You give me strength to carry on " Strange day or what? :-)
